One interesting little snippett from the Audit Commission report into Council House allocations and the council's response (see links in articles below) is that the Councillor who told fibs in support of a dodgy council house allocation is Brian Grocock who is, of course the current Sherriff of Nottingham.
Boooo hiss etc ;-D

Will he now be kicked out or stand down - or will he instead feature on one of those punterising Nottingham City Council posters telling us we are "Proud" Nottingham?
Is he a Norman?
Well, he's one of the 'making up the numbers' councillors rather than anybody important so I suspect he will soon be promoted to 'sacrificial lamb' status.
Its a bit of a strange one really. Apparently he pretended that the bloke he was helping was his grandson when he wasn't. You'd expect it to be the other way round i.e. councillor helps family member to get a house but conceals the family connection in attempt to avoid scandal.
Unless of course, Cllr Grocock knew that, in the prevailing culture in NCH, staff being told that a councillor's relative was on the list was akin to a direct order to drop everything else and make sure said relative got what he wanted...
